Found out that our almost 10 year old house's roof (with 30 year shingles) had not been installed properly when one of the vent stack boots failed. Was expecting a couple of hundred dollar repairs and instead discovered we'd need a whole new roof!

The original builder had not installed the existing roof properly. Too narrow a ridge vent and not cut straight. Temperatures in the attic were 20-30 degrees above outside temperature (and that baked the original shingles from underneath causing them to fail prematurely).

We got estimates from a national company and a regional company and they were insanely high! They also wanted to sell a warranty more than a good roof.

Finally a long time family friend (who also happens to be a real estate agent in Wake County) recommended we speak with StormSafe. I owe him a debt of gratitude.

The quote from their website was backed up (and identical) to the quote they gave after inspecting the roof. When I first called late on a Friday the phone went directly to one of the two co-owners. They sent out Brandon first thing Monday morning and he was great to work with. His advice saved us money and hassle.

There was no high-pressure sales tactics, no "discount if you sign in the next ten minutes", and they were patient as we worked out financing before we pulled the trigger. Once we did they were true to their word and were able to come to install the new roof in two (very hot) days. Their crew was professional, on time, stayed till things were done, and highly detail oriented. The quality of the work is great, and the remainder wasn't due until we were happy and Brandon (as project manager) was happy. They were also great with cleanup.

The temperature in our attic is now within 5 to 10 degrees of the outside temperature, which I'm sure will save us on future power bills. Now we have quality materials AND a quality installation that I truly believe will last for 30 years.

What could have been a very expensive and frustrating ordeal turned into an affordable and pleasant/professional experience and all with a personal touch.

I truly believe that this company wants to help people out with reasonable prices and the best possible work. The fact that they are working with some of the same crews as the day they first opened their business also says a lot about how they treat their labor.

We plan to use them again early next year to paint the exterior of our home.

I highly recommend StormSafe Roofing and Exteriors. They are a small locally owned business and are big enough to stand by their reputation (no "chuck with a truck") but not so big that all they care about is more profit. It was great to find a company that took pride in their work, and in my experience working with them.

When the storm hit us this past year, we were swamped with repair and insurance issues. StormSafe's team of professionals helped us through that difficult process. They made it seamless and smooth while adding their expertise in choosing the perfect roofing for our home. Chad and Thomas were a great team. Even to this day, we can call them and they are willing to stop what they are doing and come take care of any issues pertaining to our roof. They became like a family to us and treated us the same. I will recommend them to anyone who has a roofing problem or is in need of a professional roofing service. They are the best!!!!
