After several months of struggling with our Mini Dachshund Waffles, I started looking into official training programs. She was having issues with barking, housebreaking, resource guarding, and was causing a lot of frustration and stress within our household. From the beginning, I knew a board & train program was what we preferred and had several friends recommend Stephanie at Shepherd’s K9. From the moment I dropped Waffles off, I knew she was in great hands. The facility was impressive— so clean, very safe, and well-equipped, allowing Waffles to socialize with other dogs while receiving structured training. I always looked forward to seeing pictures and videos that Stephanie would post while she was there. After four weeks, we had our exit meeting with Stephanie (AKA “train the humans”) and spent several hours learning how to enforce all of the training and manners Waffles learned. When Stephanie brought her into the room with us, we were all amazed as how different (in a very good way!) she was. Now that she’s home, it’s been amazing to see how she’s transformed into an obedient and well-mannered puppy. Not only did she learn a number of essential commands, but she seems happier and more relaxed which makes our entire family happy. She loves showing off her new skills! Our family is now able to enjoy having her and our bond with her is growing by the day. Stephanie also boards dogs that she’s trained so when we travel, Waffles can board there and will receive reinforcements on her training (she’s actually there as I write this while we are on a weekend trip). I highly recommend Stephanie & this program to any dog owner looking to improve their dog’s behavior and strengthen the bond between them. It’s an investment but one that is absolutely worth it. Stephanie has trained two of my dogs and never ceases to impress! With regard to personal interactions, she is always professional, responsive, kind, and compassionate.
