Based on the reviews, La Luz Dance Co. is a Latin dance studio in Downtown Raleigh. Lumy is an incredible dancer and choreographer who is patient, kind, supportive, generous, creative, and fun. She places an emphasis on strengthening salsa basics, especially footwork. Her exceptional teaching has allowed dancers to become much quicker learners and well rounded dancers. The amount of knowledge and dedication she brings is unmatched. One dancer was able to perform three times with her instruction, including at the Atlanta Salsa & Bachata festival. The experience has been a joy and pleasure, and continues to be the best experience by far. The weekly Sunday social is also wonderful, where you are guaranteed to have a wonderful time. Whether a seasoned dancer or a newbie, she is highly recommended.

I've attended private and group salsa classes, as an absolute beginner. While I personally needed a LOT of self-study at home in order to get somewhere with my learning, because dance is really new to my brain and body, Lumy's in-person training really made the difference in getting me confident enough to dance with my experienced girlfriend at salsa socials and at home. This is my first choice recommendation in Raleigh for in-person learning salsa/bachata! I also really appreciated Lumy's warmth and interest in my dance journey and what motivated me. I feel like she's as excited as I am when I am making progress!
We have been taking private lessons with Lumy and highly recommend it! I have been social dancing for years but the private lessons from Lumy have increased my abilities and confidence 100% She is a very helpful and uplifting instructor and we will continue to take her classes
