“This was our first experience with Ace Handyman - and it will not be our last. Alex arrived right on time and was faced with a challenge neither he nor we had seen before. The vertical trim on the left of our side garage door had bowed out in the middle while still attached at the top and bottom. Prior to Alex arriving I had been able to remove the trim piece but with the nails both in the trim and protruding down from the horizontal trim at the top I was not confident that the trim piece could be put back in place. But Alex was up to the challenge and in only 90 minutes or so had the trim piece back in place looking almost as good as new! Alex was both personable and professional throughout his time at our home and we thank him for a job well done! Also Alex was kind enough to give us a sheet detailing the wide range of services provided by Ace Handyman. We know that will come in handy many times in the future. Great job Alex!“

“Between helping to care for aging parents, their deaths, and the pandemic, my house suffered from “squeaky wheel syndrome” — meaning only the most urgent problems got any attention. I hired Jeff to fix some rotted wood trim I had found on garage windows. But Jeff’s initial inspection identified several other areas of serious rot, with the worst compromising the integrity of a 3-panel sliding patio door. When Jeff showed me the problem areas and explained the extent of the damage, I was expecting him to say that replacing the windows and door was the only option — an option that I knew I couldn’t afford given that the door alone would cost about $9K. Fortunately for me, Jeff has amazing skills he learned from repairing and restoring wooden boats. Jeff worked miracles on restoring 14 rotted window frames, making them solid and looking almost new. His repairs are so seamless that I have difficulty identifying which areas were restored. Jeff takes pride in his work and takes the time to do each step correctly. Because restoration is often a multi-step process, Jeff might not be the fastest or cheapest — but he is the best! The high quality of his work has kept Jeff busy in our neighborhood as neighbors could see the before/after results and asked Jeff to put their homes on his schedule.
Before writing this review, I waited a couple of months after Jeff had finished to make sure the repairs held up and I was still pleased with his work. I can confidently say I highly recommend Jeff Borchers because he is a rare find - a true craftsman with a huge skill set, extensive knowledge, and years of experience — but most important the ability to find a solution to whatever problem arises.“
