I go to Southern Dermatology every year for a skin check and have always been satisfied. I decided I'd try the skin renewal center. I usually go to another medspa but it was booked. I got a chemical peel by Jennifer which I was satisfied with. She recommended I use a retinol cream at night which I was fine with. She got me the cream and I paid $330 for cream and treatment. The cream was $219 which I thought seemed quite high but wasn't familiar with the brand. I got in my car to look up the reviews of the cream and check the price. The manufacturer sells it for $178. I called the medspa and they returned my call later and explained to me it was $204 plus tax. I questioned why it was so much more than the manufacturers price and could I return it. She explained that it was corporate pricing and I could not return the product once it left the office. Hey, I'm all about making a profit, but a markup on retail when I know that they got it at a discount is ridiculous. I've never had a Medspa mark up their prices like that, even at high end spas. Lesson learned and I won't be back.
****AWFUL**** Do not go here unless you want to get harassed and spoke to aggressively by the doctor( Margaret Boyse)!!! Never have I ever left a doctors office feeling extremely uncomfortable and shaking!!! Boyse is very unprofessional stay far away from this lady!
My first (and last) experience with Southern Dermatology was not good. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my appointment time (per their recommendation) to complete new patient paperwork. The line to register was to the door and the waiting room was very crowded (not a comfortable situation considering COVID). A half hour after my scheduled appointment time, I was still not called back. I went in to check with the front desk and was told I'd be next to see the doctor I was scheduled with. After another 10-15 minutes had gone by (with no further communication), I handed in the paperwork I completed an hour prior and left. I will not go back or recommend this practice.
