City Barber Shop

I visited City Barber Shop for the first time today and I can't express great this business is. The barber gave great haircuts to me and my Children and he certainly dosent know a stranger. I'm happy to have came across this barber as he does outstanding work and is very friendly. I highly recommend this shop!!

This is the original barbershop where Andy got his hair cut when he lived in Mt Airy. It is no longer operating as a barbershop but as a tourist attraction. The owner is the son of the original owner. He invites people in to just chat and share the history of the shop and town. He makes sure everyone sits in the barber chair and takes your picture, which he then posts to his FB page. There is not charge to stop at Floyd’s but there is a tip jar available.

You might notice a kind-looking gentleman seated in a barber’s chair. Don’t just stroll past. The sign on the door states, “Tourists Welcome”, so go in! He wants you to come inside and hear about his dad, the “real Floyd” who used to cut Andy’s hair in that green barber’s chair. Let him take your photo for his Floyd the Barber FB page. Definitely go inside this historic shop!
