Sarah and GO Architectural Design were wonderful to work with. Sarah proved to be exceptional at understanding the design specifications that both New Bern and Beaufort Historic Preservation Committees ask for. We saved time and money having her negotiate, what could have been, challenging meetings and reviews.
The best compliment she received was from a sub contractor working on the project in the historic district in Beaufort NC. They were convinced the house was an old house that we’d remodeled. We engaged Sarah Afflerbach at GO Architecture to lead the architectural design for a major renovation of our family home. At the outset, we had no clear vision of what we wanted or what was possible. We simply described our everyday living challenges, the layout issues that no longer worked well, and the aspects of the house we disliked, leaving the creative design of both functionality and aesthetics entirely to Sarah. After our Carriage House in New Bern was significantly flooded during Hurricane Florence, Sarah was the only contractor brave enough to take on the challenge of helping us to raise and restore it. She designed and represented our project to HPC and undoubtedly saved a historic home that otherwise would have been lost. I highly recommend her services.
