We have an unusual 6-year-long flooring story that has happily ended with Signature Flooring. We had 2 back-to-back terrible flooring fails from 2019-2020 (with top brands!) because we apparently were stuck in a flooring vortex of chaos. One of our floors (Coretec Berlin Pine), though beautiful, had such a matte finish that it tore up our clothing at a ridiculously rapid pace, which is especially a problem when one is on the floor with young kids all day. It was the least fun and longest running floor-is-lava game that no one wanted to play. We tried to replace it with Cali Bamboo’s North Shore Oak and it was not destructive at all, but there was a printing error that we didn’t know about until the Berlin Pine floor on our bottom floor was demo-ed and so we had to install it even with the printing defect so that we weren’t living on subfloors with our toddler. Cali Bamboo eventually admitted fault and said they would fix the problem and replace our floors. Cue a pandemic that delayed everything by years, which gave Cali Bamboo time to fix their printing issue but also update their finish to be as ultra-matte and destructive as the Berlin Pine. We searched and searched on and off for years for an LVP that didn’t have a matte finish that was destructive to fabric, but that finish became more and more popular. Almost no one would listen to us or help us, until we found Liz and Chelsea at Signature Flooring who came highly recommended from a fellow homeschooling mom. They are SO kind and genuinely care about their customers! Truly rare gems! We ultimately did not find an LVP that performed as well as we were hoping on our fabric tests so we had to go with a waterproof laminate floor that Liz said they could install because it was owned by Mohawk. We did find some LVP options that were not as bad as our Berlin Pine so those options might be fine for most people (especially those that aren’t down on the floor much), but, after what we had been through, we wanted zero fabric damage on our fabric tests and we could only find one option that met that need. Apparently a semi-gloss finish was required to accomplish that goal and that’s exceedingly hard to find these days. I can’t stress enough how patient Liz and Chelsea were with us in our search and in answering allllllll of our maaaaaaaaany questions! So whether you are on your first flooring journey, or are traumatized by flooring fails and are wondering who you can trust, Signature Flooring is the one and only place we can recommend! And shout-out to Oscar (our lead installer) who also was caring and kind during the installation process and helped keep an eye out for us on preventing pattern repeats from sabotaging the look of our new floors! They all earned 5 stars and more! (Please give them all raises!)
