If you’ve ever interacted with the staff or doctors at Roanoke Island Animal Clinic, then you know they are the best (not just in the area but as a life long NC local, I would dare to say the entire state). For years they’ve cared for our animals like family. The past two years have been especially difficult after having lost both of our family dogs. From diagnosing cancer, to end of life care and comfort, and then their inevitable passing, every step of the way, the doctors helped guide us like they were their own pets. I had an emergency with my sweet Neo recently. I contacted RIAC at 5:50am on a Saturday. Dr. Mary Burkart answered the phone. I told her of my emergency and she said that they would be open @8am and to come right on over. She also gave me advice on what I could do to help my sweet Neo in his time of emergency. Needless to say the day did not go as planned. They did absolutely everything they could for my sweet boy but unfortunately he was too sick to save. But the love and kindness that they gave to me and him during our emergency was nothing short of top notch!
