We’ve been taking our dogs Ozzy and Meson to Bark Avenue for a while now, and we’ve had a great experience every time. Ozzy (a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix) gets regular haircuts and always comes back looking great and he clearly loves the staff. Meson (a pit heeler) isn’t a fan of getting his nails done, but he still gets excited to see the team there, which says a lot.
The staff really tries to accommodate what you’re asking for, whether it’s a certain cut length or more custom trims like shaping around the ears or going for a teddy bear look. One thing I’d recommend is bringing a picture of what you want. Everyone interprets descriptions...read full review
Andrea was amazing. She made my fur baby, Snowball feel comfortable with his spa day. Andrea treated Snowball as her own. She listened to my concerns, addressed them and that let me know that I made the right decision in trusting her to service my fur baby. Snowball looked amazing, smelled good and so relaxed after being pampered. Going forward Snowball will have to skip the cologne as he has very sensitive skin ( no fault of Andrea). I’d give Bark Avenue a 10 rating. We’ll definitely be returning.
My dog is a fighter, when it comes to getting his nails done. He is a small little guy but, he is mighty when it comes to fighting a nail trimming. I used to take my pup to Pet Smart for nail trims. He gradually was not able to be serviced there, due to his anxiety- resulting in them asking me not to bring him back. I had some luck trimming his nails, myself, but it was always a knock down drag out fight WWE style. It got to the point, where I would need to literally wrestle him. After awhile, he became more aggressive and I was afraid to try anymore, for fear of hurting him in the struggle.
