Finally! The answer to true healing and recovery. Dr. Lauren Dobner is the angel I so desperately needed. For nine months, I was suffering from back and hip pain that left me unable to do what I love the most: ballroom dancing. I was in so much pain I was losing sleep. I had seen five doctors (one made me worse actually) before my first visit at Be The Change. The difference was clear- She listened closely, assessed the situation as a whole, and worked her magic to come up with a personalized plan. I am a triathlete and marathoner and so I usually deal with nagging aches and injuries from time to time. Most of the physical therapists I have seen over the years cannot offer me much guidance other than RICE and train less or stop altogether. Most of them don't look like they exercise regularly. Dr. Jennifer has given me some incredible guidance to relieve pain and increase flexibility and help PREVENT injury versus just dealing with it afterwards. Her ability to accurately diagnose and alleviate issues is amazing, and her expansive knowledge of biomechanics while incorporating a multi-faceted, proactive approach helps athletes improve mobility, functionality and overall performance. She clearly practices what she preaches. Dr. Jennifer had me make several small tweaks that created a huge difference in my strides, she even helped with a shoulder issue that had crept up from poor form during the swim. Most recently, I had my 10th overall marathon coming up only 3 weeks after my 10th overall 70.3 IronMan race and I happened to have a freak injury creep up only 2 days before the race! My calf locked up on a simple warm-up jog and continued to get worse throughout the day. I thought there was going to be NO WAY I could start the race. Dr. Jennifer did some amazing needling and mobility work and not only was I able to start the marathon, but I was able to go the distance and recreate one of my best memories of all time carrying my little guy across the finish line. She was even able to deal with me in my fragile Taper-Madness emotional state, giving me some positive thoughts, vibes and mantras to help get me through. THANK YOU for your help, Doc!
