I've lived in Charlotte for the past 18 years and have been hopping between salons the whole time. Now that I have found Jody at the Venue, I'm not going anywhere else :) Here is what makes Jody and her place so fantastic: 1. It is small. It's in an adorable old house and there are never more than 2 customers at a time. It's not loud or chaotic, Jody really takes her time focusing on each customer. 2. It's quality service without a stuffy atmosphere. You don't feel like you have to get dressed up to come here. It has charming decorations and an outside balcony, but you don't feel out of place wearing gym clothes or flip flops (comfy clothes, instead of wearing high heels and dressing in all black like people do at most salons). 3. Jody has been doing this for decades and was able to come up w/ a color formula that covered my gray roots - which no one from the Aveda salons has ever been able to do!!! 4. Lilly - Jody's Golden Retriever - hangs out in the lobby all day. If you want to play w/ her she is very friendly but if you aren't a dog person she will just nap behind the desk. She is a cutie :) 5. Appointments don't take a long time. I was used to spending 1-2 HOURS at bigger salons, but I am in and out of this one in about 30 minutes. She is fast!!! The list goes on and on. I encourage you to give Jody a call. I'm sure you will be on here w/ your own list soon!

This is absolutely the best place I've ever been to get my hair done. Jody Spears is awesome! She listens closely to what you want and makes suggestions but still does what you want her to do. You never walk out with some weird, unexpected do that you hate. The atmosphere is so peaceful and calming from the hardwood floors to the greenish-blue walls. Jody is also careful about staying with her schedule so I've never had to wait more than a few minutes and she gets my hair cut and colored in less than 90 minutes and it always looks just great! I've never had so many compliments on my hair as I've had since I've been going there. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
