About Okra

Okra is a unique and beloved yoga studio in the Noda area of Charlotte, offering a refreshing change from the typical wellness centers. This space is deeply connected to the local community, reflecting their identity and values. The studio provides a wide variety of classes, catering to different needs and preferences. The classes emphasize the mental and spiritual aspects of yoga, not just the physical. Students appreciate the variety of slower and unheated classes, which allow them to focus on the holistic benefits of the practice. The instructors, such as Danielle and Natalie, are praised for their exceptional teaching skills, particularly in the more challenging flow classes. One aspect that could be improved is the consistency of the class experiences, as some classes may differ significantly from their descriptions in terms of speed and intensity. Nonetheless, Okra remains a highly regarded yoga studio, with its welcoming atmosphere, affordability, and the introduction of unique offerings like Tai Dorn's primal yoga class, which combines elements of Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and energy work. Overall, Okra is a cherished part of the local community, providing a space for yoga enthusiasts to explore the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the practice in a supportive and inclusive environment.

I looooove this yoga studio! It is such a welcoming space with a variety of classes, and so affordable. If you like more challenging flows, definitely try out Danielle and Natalie's classes, they are the best!
