My girlfriends and I decided on a whim that we wanted to get tattoos while one of our friends was in town, so we started searching for a reputable shop in the Charlotte area that accepted walk-ins. I called Big Top Tattoo, and the owner immediately put us at ease with a friendly, enthusiastic, “Come on in, we’re ready for you!”
Thirty minutes later, we walked into the studio and instantly knew we had made the right choice. The vibe was incredible. The decor was unique, the energy was fun and welcoming, and the open loft-style space gave us a chance to see talented artists creating amazing work all around us.

Kay did my paw print tattoo for my passed kitty. It was my first tattoo with her and she absolutely exceeded my expectations! She was very knowledgeable, informative and beyond kind and skilled! I would absolutely recommend this tattoo shop, and of course Kay, for your tattoo needs! I will definitely be going back for more.
Got a tattoo at Big Top from Lydia today and she was great. She took the time to draw my vision and make revisions when I asked. She also made sure to make a couple sizes for me to review the stencils on. She was very light handed and did all she could to make me comfortable. Big Top itself was really clean and has a cool book collection to check out while you're waiting. Definitely recommend Big Top and Lydia.
