I took a self defense class with 10 of my friends and I highly recommend! We had such a fun time, but also learned a lot too. It was empowering to discuss and practice tools of defense and ways we as women can be more aware of our surroundings and how to act in a threatening situation if needed. It’s definitely a class to take multiple times to learn more each time and to be confident in implementing skills we learned. Good instructors, good teaching, good times! Thanks Aikido!

I have been studying at Aikido of Charlotte for 6 months. From day one I was welcomed warmly and that has continued during the past six months. When I first visited the dojo the dojo cho, Weiner Sensei, answered all the questions I had about practicing Aikido at his dojo; as well as the, late, chief instructor Main Sensei sat with me the entire class sharing his insights about practicing Aikido and answered my questions. This first experience has been consistent. I have enjoyed my curiosity and eagerness respected and matched to the appropriate level of my studying. This is a safe and friendly place to practice Aikido, to learn self-defense, as well as personal growth.

I attended the self-defense class offered at Aikido of Charlotte. It was led by knowledge instructors, and assisted by aikido students who were available to assist us with learning the various self defense tactics. I came away feeling more confident in my ability to defend myself appropriately if the need arises, while also being able to identify and diffuse potential situations. I highly recommend this self-defense class.
