RUN FAR AWAY!!! We had a metal roof put on by this guy @ 6 years ago and I knew we would need to replace soon after seeing how it was completed. He seemed like a great guy when he came and gave us a quote and he sounded like he cared about the quality of his work. WRONG.We have had several small leaks and now a major one, and we are currently getting bids for a whole new roof after getting this one inspected and being informed that "Just about everything was done wrong."He must hire crews out of S.C. or the Home Depot parking lot because they don't have a clue and didn't speak any english. This Guy does not stand behind his work and will treat your property like a job site,...read full review

Scotty was very friendly @ the first meeting, praying with us for my husband’s health issues. Once construction started everything changed. His workers tore the old shingles off the roof hitting our window screens tearing and ripping them in many places, making black marks on our siding. Our gutters were torn off even though we had never talked about replacing them. Snow guards were supposed to be installed on the metal roof. Scotty promised they would be. After over six months Scotty’s promise to repair screens never happened. The gutters were eventually patched up but not very functional. Snow guards were never installed. Payment was given with Scotty promising...read full review

Oh where to begin with Scotty the "preacher" and his crew of misfits. So let's go with the basic rundown and why this guy deserves a 1 star. 1. Timeliness...poor. Promises galore and unmet deadlines aplenty 2. Subcontractors. So here's just another problem with this "operation". This is ,from what we could discern, one person and whatever subcontractors he could happen to find to do the work. When you do a renovation, suffice to say a legit TEAM of professionals is what you want. This lacked any semblance of a contractor running the show, but rather a contractor" that had no ability to rely upon subs as they do not work exclusively for him. They apparently work when it is convenient for them and unfortunately that caused some serious issues. 3. Condescending. I ultimately had to tell this guy that he was not allowed to contact my wife as he lacked the ability to act in a polite and respectful manner. By the end of the project was told that he wasn't allowed in our property. 4. This one is just foul...despite the plethora of cameras surrounding our house and the fact that we're literally on a hillside with woods, we had multiple issues with subcontractors urinating on our property. Once behind the house, once on the side of the driveway and another time literally right outside our basement door. My dogs have enough courtesy not to deficate or urinate 10 feet outside our basement door. I'd recommend asking your contractor if they provide a porta-potty or if they'll just be using the area directly outside your door if they have to go pee pee or poo poo. 5. Workmanship - Some average, some poor. Please see photos below. Uneven paint, uneven tile, sloppy grout, poor drywall work...... 6. Politics. I don't care if you like, dislike, or are casually indifferent to my political views nor are they your concern. Similarly, I have zero interest in protracted drawn out political conversations about how glorious Donald Trump is and how the world is going to hell. I just want the work done. 7. Communication. Suffice to say_________ 8. Yeah exactly - communication is best with accurate and clear communication without a pile of "we'll handle that later. Look no further than an "estimate" from Scotty. An estimate (even unsigned"), is actually meant to be your actual cost unless the estimate is low....then it would be higher of course. 9. Following directions. Not good. As an example, we were exceptionally clear that we wanted thicker drywall on the ceiling as a sound buffer between the bottom and top levels of the house. This didn't happen and was an epic screwup. The solution, we could shove 20k in furniture into a storage room, tack more drywall onto the existing improperly used drywall and then mud and paint it. This would (properly done) require a full removal and storage of furniture (beds, couches, rugs, tables, etc...) and the installation of a negative pressure system unless we wanted to be vacuuming drywall dust and cleaning for the next 6 months. I sum, we were absolutely disgusted with the quality of work that was done and the overall experience. We ultimately had an exceptionally difficult time getting explanations for suspect charges and gave this guy the option of a fee reduction or we would file reports with multiple state agencies and go to court. The price reduction was given not because Scotty boy was "wrong" but because he wanted to make sure we would be "cordial" if we ever bumped into each other in town. When someone leads with "I'm a preacher", probably a good time to walk the other way.
