We were recommended by doctors to enroll our son in karate to improve his gross motor skills and have seen such a wonderful improvement in the last year he has been taking classes with Sensei Houston and his instructional team. Our son has progressed numerous belts and is improving beyond his gross motor skills - respect, listening, social interactions.
We recently had a birthday party for our son at KIA and it was fantastic! They took care of everything - I just had to show up with pizza and cake. My son and his friends had a really fun time with a mixture of free play and structured basic karate skills.

Update to this post: I am now a black belt and cannot stress enough the support and love here. Whether it's working new katas or teaching the younger students. I love KI-Apex and am thankful to have found this place.
I've been taking classes since summer of 2021. I'm an adult with a few mobility issues and I ABSOLUTELY love class. Mr. Houston understands my limitations and works with me to modify. The community is so supportive and can call them family. This is a great place for you and your family.

My teenage son explored several martial arts schools in the Triangle area before discovering KIA, and he immediately felt more at home here than anywhere else. The supportive atmosphere is exceptional; regardless of skill level, every student is treated with importance and care. The Sensei's genuine passion for teaching is evident, and I’m excited to see my son develop new skills and continue to grow in the sport.
