What a failure of a logistics company. Before I write the rest of this, know that I've been in the logistics business for two decades in one capacity or another and this comes from a professional. We were supposed to have a washer and dryer delivered to a tenant's home a week and a half ago, but Home Depot was late getting it to the carrier. Talking with Armour they blamed the postal strike. First off, I understand a delay in the cargo getting to them, but Canada Post is not involved in this whatsoever. Why shift blame to a party not involved? Then I had asked if they could reach out the day before, as I need to give the tenants 24 hours notice, by law. They said they would. They didn't. I cleared a day knowing that the delivery time is ambiguous. deliveries take time and each drop might be a little different. I fully understand that. They not only didn't call, they sent the owner a time window of 2-6pm by email and robo call in the evening prior. (not the legal 24 hours notice required by law, but we'd make it work). 9:15am, I'm getting a panicked call from my tenant who says the truck is on camera. No call an hour ahead so I could be there. Not within the 2-4pm window assigned. Calling them to sort out a reliable time today, I was told they'd have to deliver tomorrow. I asked if they could stick to the window they advised us and they said they couldn't. It wasn't possible for the driver to come back. They'd have to reschedule for tomorrow. I asked for a time or a reasonable window after 2pm. Even if it was as today was promised 2-6pm but they'd have to actually call me and they refused to even consider rescheduling until some time this afternoon. When I pointed out that they didn't do that yesterday, as they were supposed to, she ignored the problem and said she was just "arguing in circles" and hung up. I now have a panicked mother leaving a small town hospital half an hour away with her sick kid who needs prescription meds, heading home to try to catch the truck and see if they'll do the delivery, as she's now been without a washer and dryer for three weeks, with two unnecessarily delayed weeks of logistics problems. If you're a business considering hiring this firm. Expect to be compensating clients for their behavior as Home Depot will have to do with now two failed delivery schedules.
