We just had the heart ripping experience of putting our 20 year old cat to sleep. The doctor was empathetic after showing up to our house. He took his time to explain what would happen and gave the family time to grieve through the process. Most importantly, he was careful to treat our cat like a family member and ensured he was comfortable to the end. We can't recommend him enough for when the time comes for something so horrible. Scott is a incredibly special human being! I was fortunate to have found him to put our old boy down in my lap at our home in Bigfork! I have since moved up to eureka where he came up a couple of x’s as I have many pets horses too, I love Scott Smiley for the way he treats my pets and his empathy for my human pain for my pets! I only recommend this gentle giant Dr Smiley to everyone I talk to about their farm animals and pets, hands down!
Dr. Smiley came to our home over the weekend and was compassionate and understanding as we discussed our dog’s health situation and what steps he would take to end our dog’s suffering. Euthanasia was done quickly but carefully after which we were given additional time to say our goodbyes. Dr. Smiley then gently carried our dog out to his vehicle and transported him for cremation. It was a comfort to us that our very sick dog did not have to suffer through another hated car ride and veterinary office visit. Thank you so much for the excellent care and kindness you showed us and our pets.
