Alluvian Spa offers lovely spa treatments in a wonderful place within one of the South’s best small towns. The massage therapists are sometimes described as good, wonderful, very personable, and friendly. Some services, like facials, receive no complaints. However, experiences with the massages themselves are inconsistent. Several reviews report disappointing treatments, describing them as just an oily rub down without intentional deep tissue work, leaving clients unable to relax. In one case, a massage resulted in significant soreness, pain, and discomfort, called the worst massage ever. Feedback on the front desk staff is mixed, with some finding them nice and friendly, while others felt pressured regarding tipping. Despite the appealing setting, these inconsistent experiences lead some clients to state they will not return.
