About Kemper County Animal Clinic
Kemper County Animal Clinic, led by Dr. Calvert, is a trusted veterinary service for both large and small animals, known for its kind and knowledgeable care at fair prices. The clinic has built a strong reputation for solving difficult health problems, including skin disorders, when other veterinarians could not. Dr. Calvert's compassion and dedication to helping animals is highly admired by many. Although the clinic's office may not be fancy, it does not take away from the exceptional service provided.
Customers express gratitude for the care their animals receive, noting that Dr. Calvert treats their pets as if they were his own. He has a genuine love for animals, which is evident when entering the clinic, often greeted by former stray dogs and cats that now call the lobby home. The clinic is appreciated for its affordability, with customers emphasizing that Dr. Calvert goes above and beyond, even staying after hours to provide care. Many recommend the clinic, highlighting the exceptional support during difficult times, like when it came to saying goodbye to beloved pets.
They are about the animals. Nothing fancy. There is always a menagerie of unaccompanied animals that seem to be tenants instead of patients, making themselves at home in the waiting room. The last time I went there a calf was completely at home in the office laying on a dog bed until he decided to irritate a small dog who was also at home in the clinic. After he did that he came and said hello to us and went back to his bed. There are bitty hens and a peacock living on the grounds.
He charges less than he should but there are many people, like me, who could not get help for their animals were it not for his more than fair prices..
It is a very endearing situation there.

Dr Calvert has been my vet for years, and he is the best ever! He truly cares about animals, and he doesn't charge you $100 just to walk in his door! Very reasonable prices! I can't say enough good things about him and his staff as well!
GREAT VET! He's kinda the Mayberry doc. He don't need all the fancy machines to diagnose and fix them up. We have used him for years. He's affordable and truly cares. It's not just about money with him. Yes he has a lot of animals roaming around there that's because he has taken in animals that don't have a home in the area because it's truly about the animals with him.
