It is most telling of a business's character when there is an incident and how they address it.
I bought a cover from Bi-State Pool and unfortunately there was an issue and they custom-ordered the wrong cover (mistakes happen, I get it). I was worried about a mess to get it resolved. However after just a single email, Bi-State offered two great solutions, either one of which would have made me happy. It was great to have such a customer-focused response. It was my first business with Bi-State but I plan on using them going forward after this experience.

I highly recommend Bi-state. When we started our pool journey, we actually got a few quotes from local installers; however, the other pool vendors, while sometimes cheaper, were oversimplifying things like drainage and location. Some of them simply wanted to set a shell in the ground and leave (e.g., don't put any features it is expensive--when really they just didn't want to deal with it). With Bi-state, they actually came out and shot elevation; really planning out everything from the very beginning. Seems simple/common sense, but they are the only ones that did it. We selected BiState to install our vinyl liner pool over two other vendors and are very glad we did. Our experience with them was excellent. From the start of the project until we were swimming in our new pool was only approx. 6 weeks. Throughout the project they were very responsive to any issues that cropped up and addressed them all in a timely fashion. The crews that worked on our project were wonderful and a pleasure to have on the job. They handled any and all of our questions patiently and gave us some good tips once we were in service.
