This company is a nightmare. Your try to build the home of your dreams and now it is a nightmare because of the builder. These home owners had contracted Whalen Homes to build their home along with doing their landscaping that included a pool, decks and patios. With Whalen Custom Homes, it was a fight to the finish just to get the house done. Whalen was always trying to do shortcuts even though this was an elaborate build. Then Whalen would not communicate in a timely matter and actually LIED that he had gotten a permit which was holding up the build and come to find out, Whalen NEVER even applied. Almost after a year of waiting for house to be done and remember, money had already been paid to Whalen Homes the year before, Whalen had not purchased the tile for the fireplace and told the home owner they would have to wait more time for the tile to be delivered. The homeowner ended up, going out and getting their tile and had it delivered on their own to get the job moving forward especially since their other house had been sold. Whalen knew of the timeline. Never any good communication, no project management and now it has been another year and no landscaping or pool even though the money has been paid. Of the partial landscaping that has been done, the steps on the front and back are wrong, NEW siding has been torn off to make room for steps and has not been put back on, NO POOL, NO PATIO, NOTHING DONE… and they will not communicate or schedule when it will be done with the homeowner.
