It was very hard losing my Dad, Ray Berry but our director, Bill Weissenbach was with us every step of the way. He left nothing to chance and helped us orchestrate a celebration of life that our family will always remember truly honoring our humble Marine,Ray Berry. Schrader has always met our needs and made special accommodations to the fullest extent. The Family Center was used for the Celebration of Life for our loved one, Sean Kinlough. It is the perfect place for a comfortable but formal event honoring the loss of our cherished family member. There not enough words to express our gratitude and respect for everyone at Schrader’s. Being 50+ year residents of Manchester, my parents expressed years ago that they wanted Schrader to take care of their final arrangements, fast forward to June of 2018 and after putting my father in a skilled nursing facility earlier than expected, circumstances required us to pre-arrange and pay for his funeral. The intricacies of what was required by the state of MO for his situation we’re specific and JR (now retired) handled it with ease and respect. He walked my mom and me through it and made sure we had no question left unanswered. When we learned, that the situation required us to pre-arrange his spouse’s (my mom), we simply called and said we wanted the exact same thing for her and we knew it was taken care of. Circumstances happened that my mom passed away first in January of 2021 from Covid and during many restrictions. I called on a Sunday morning and Bill Weissenbach answered the phone and made the next five days, which were challenging, seamless. No phone call or email went unanswered, actually the answers came so quickly we never had to worry about anything. Being one of six children means a lot of moving parts to coordinate, and they didn’t even blink. The timing of her passing did not allow us to do what we would have wanted but Bill and the Schrader staff made sure she got the service she deserved. They worked seamlessly with St. Joseph’s Manchester to work through restrictions and details and St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Just this past week (December 2021), I had to make the same phone call again, this time about my dad, and Jennifer Oliver answered this time and she was equally as wonderful as Bill. Being the week before Christmas threw some curveballs and Jennifer and the staff made every accommodation to give my dad the wonderful service my mom got with more people involved. Again, no question or phone call or text went unanswered. A few challenges popped up with the logistics of having 21 of 24 of my immediate family members out of town, and the staff from the front desk to the behind the scenes heroes made it all happen. Accommodating 24 of us, 13 being grandchildren, during my dad’s visitation was handled with care and concern. The energetic and curious young children were never treated with anything but the same respect we were. It deserves a mention that the coordinator at St. Joseph’s said how they love working with Schrader’s because no detail is missed and how wonderful they are. Twice in 11 months from initial purchase hone call to the final moments at the graveside, Bill Jennifer, and the whole staff made trying times seamless and graceful. They laughed with us, respected us, and showed immense empathy and compassion. I also want to mention Tom, who assisted on both of parents masses and burials, who was just as wonderful. This business takes a true calling, as it shows in everyone at Schrader. Using a local company makes a difference and it’s clear why they’ve been been in this business for so long.
