“I have spent a lot of time trying to find the right words for this review because my experience with Dr. Hagen has been about so much more than surgery.

Choosing to have a facelift is deeply personal and incredibly vulnerable. You are putting your face—and in many ways, a piece of your identity—into someone else’s hands. I wasn’t looking for perfection. I wanted to look like a refreshed version of myself.

From my very first interaction with Dr. Hagen, I trusted him. He is incredibly skilled, but what stands out just as much is who he is: humble, grounded, honest, calm, and genuinely caring. He has a way of giving you his completely raw, honest response—never rehearsed, never trying to tell you what you want to hear.

There was only one moment when I was truly afraid—and, honestly, it was because I disobeyed his instructions about icing! I quickly learned my lesson. His completely honest reaction had me both reassured and laughing.

And one of the things I love most is that Dr. Hagen was the first face I saw when I woke up from surgery. I love that he does that. There was something incredibly reassuring about seeing the face of the person I had trusted before seeing my own.

Recovery has been a journey. There have been swelling, numbness, stitches, questions, emotions, and moments of wondering, “Is this really going to be what I hoped for?” Dr. Hagen never made me feel foolish for any of it. He listened, answered my questions honestly and concisely, and reminded me to trust the process.

Today, I see what I hoped for—a refreshed version of myself, not a different person.

And if I’m being completely honest, one of the greatest gifts was knowing I chose someone whose character I could trust as much as his surgical skill.

Dr. Hagen, thank you for your incredible talent, your honesty, and for simply being you.

I am so grateful I chose you.

For anyone reading this who is considering surgery and feeling uneasy about the decision, my advice is simple: choose a surgeon whose character you trust as much as their hands.

The pictures show his talent—from pre-op to 3-months post-op. I’m now 9-months post-op, and I hope my words reveal something equally important: his character.

P.S. One more thing I would be remiss not to mention: a wise surgeon knows the importance of surrounding himself with a great team. Dr. Hagen has done exactly that. From the first phone call to surgery day and every appointment after, his staff has been incredibly kind, competent, attentive, and caring. They reflect the same standard of excellence and genuine care that I experienced from Dr. Hagen himself. They deserve recognition, too.”
