Totally Tan & Spa is an award-winning tanning salon and spa that offers the best equipment and services at great value. They believe that a great tan can help boost confidence and self-image, enriching one's life. The staff are generally prompt and ready to assist customers, and they maintain clean facilities and equipment. However, some customers have experienced issues with the consistency and reliability of the sunless tanning treatments and equipment. While the monthly membership is considered worthwhile by some customers, particularly for the variety of services like hydro massage, red light therapy, and infrared sauna, there have been reports of poor customer service experiences. Some customers have faced difficulties with canceling their memberships and have encountered unprofessional behavior, such as delayed openings and lack of responsiveness from management. Despite these challenges, the spa services, particularly the cocoon, are highly praised by customers who enjoy the relaxation and benefits they provide. The professionalism and customer service skills of some staff members, such as Mikayla, are also highlighted as positive aspects of the business.
I've been going here for a while now and always have a great experience with the staff, but I really want to take a moment to shout out a visit I had recently, I believe her name was Jill (I'm so sorry if that's wrong) but I went in two weeks ago pretty distraught after getting news about my son and she literally was an angel, took care of me above and beyond with getting me calmed down via spa services and my normal tan/spray - I really needed someone to just give me kindness that night and I truly got it. I was a member of this location for over a year. The staff were always prompt and ready to check you in. They cleaned the facilities and equipment well. Over time, I went less and less, especially because I didn't actually tan, but rather used their sunless treatments. I don't think the red light products were that effective: I always felt extremely pressured to purchase products. When I wanted to cancel my membership, I had to go through many hoops. First, I wasn't about to cancel in person. I had to go online. After submitting my cancellation request, I had to wait for a customer service email. The email said they got my request, and someone would be in contact with me soon. A day later, the response was asking me if I would rather freeze my account for $5 a month rather than cancel. I responded with no thank you, and still never got a confirmation that my membership was cancelled. I asked for confirmation but no response. Eventually, I went to the store to confirm I no longer was eligible, and luckily it was cancelled.
Update: The manager called me to apologize and offered a free service for the inconvenience, so I am updating my review. I pay monthly to use the spray tanning at the Stillwater location, which I feel is broken or out of spray 50 % of the time I go in to use it. I recently asked to speak to a manager about the fact that the machine is broken so often and was told to call customer service. Additionally, several times when I have arrived at their opening time, they are not open (the last two times, someone arrives a few minutes after opening time and then I have to wait several minutes for them to get the register and machines turned on).
