In April I scheduled the Water Doctors to come to my house to complete an annual filter replacement in the reverse osmosis system they installed 15 yrs ago. The technician was polite and completed his job. The next day I went to the utility room, where the work was done, to find water all over the floor and running under my furnace. Immediately I called WDs. Their lack of concern was disappointing and they said they could have someone follow-up the next week. I had to call back twice to get a follow-up appointment scheduled since there was no follow-up from the company. The 2nd technician came a full week later. Again, very polite. He explained the prior technician did not porperly attach the 4th filter, there by causing the water leak. By this time we had shut down the system during the week we were waiting for the repair and cleaned up the water. The 2nd technician also mentioned there were 4 "O-rings" on the 4 filters which should have been replaced by the prior service person. When the repair work was done I was told that I didn't have to pay the $97 service call fee (thank you!) but I DID have to pay $4 for the O rings that should have been replaced. I responded saying I hoped I wouldn't be charged a service call fee for work completed incorrectly by their technician and it's ridiculous I am being asked to pay $4 for O rings after just paying a $207 invoice. Eventually, I called and spoke to Jackie, the office manager, explaining there should be some compensation for the damage caused and at minimum pay for a furnace review for possible damage. She told me I had to work with my homeowners insurance to file a claim and the insurance company would work with the Water Doctors insurance. Homeowners insurance won't work with the claim if you don't meet the deductible. A furnace technician call was going to start at $135. I called back to Jackie to explain the situation. I was told Water Doctors would not cover the cost of the furnace technician. If I wanted to pay for it myself I could and if something was found then WDs would review. In the end, Water Doctors refused to pay for assurances that my furnace wasn't damaged by their technician. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Sadly, an incredibly poor customer service experience and on to a new service provider. Maybe Bob Hoey, President - Water Doctors, will reach out to me to correct the situation.
