I would put my family here again in a heartbeat!

My 84YO father came to Good Sam Ambassador/New Hope in 10/2024 for transitional care after a hospitalization, then was moved to another wing for skilled nursing and maintenance of his multiple medical issues; he was there a total of 6 months, passing on 4/20/25.

Let's face it: Nobody wants to die in a nursing home, but for some complex medical cases, that is the best way for the patient and their family to manage care. Social workers, nurse management, nurses, CMAs, therapists, activities staff housekeeping, front desk - everyone treated my dad (and me) like family. They have the cutest birds inside and fish. Love visiting them. I also think it is really cool that they allow residents to have bird feeders outside too. From my brief visits, I have seen residents playing bingo several times, and one time they were having a happy hour for the residents there (I think it was fruit cups or some dessert?). I hear the food isn't that great or is sometimes cold. People in rehab get to shower twice a week as well. Yeah, I am just a visitor.

My 93-year-old mother was in there 1 1/2 years ago & absolutely loved it there!! It is the only facility that I want her to be in, & she is in there right now again & they only had one room available and amazingly it was the same room she was in before!! The Staff is awesome and very accommodating!! My mother loves to play bingo there and has always won!! There is a lot of fun events for the patients. I have talked to other patients that are there for the first time and they say they love it there!!
    Sincerely, Lynn St John
