“Christian and his team replaced my roof back in 2022 as part of the purchase agreement when I bought the home. I was having issues with ice dams and water penetration with the dormers for the last few years. I called him up when I had a leak from the latest rain that we got. It was determined that the flashing along the dormers was installed incorrectly. He was willing to have the crew come out and reinstall the correct step flashing.

The fact that he was willing to help make it right and stand behind his work nearly 4 years later speaks volume. He didn’t complain about it, he didn’t try to argue with me or downplay the issue. He just did the right thing, even when it probably wasn’t convenient for him. He is someone that I would want to do business with in the future.“

Working with our designers, Stephanie & Kathy and our contractor, Marv, was super easy and they provided a sense of collaboration through the entire project. From the earliest design meetings, our ideas were heard and incorporated into the final product. “It was a delight to work with Gail. We were able to use her as little or as much as we wanted. I used her for the design of cabinets initially and for lighting, flooring and countertops. She was able to show me how things would look with a 3-d computer program. She could instantly make changes to consider. Gail urged me to add additional lighting and I was very glad to have done so. With her layout of cabinets, and extras, we got great storage value at our price point. Gail's measurements went to cabinet-maker & were spot on. She also added little touches that I didn't catch and that added significantly to the design. Overall, I felt that Gail's assistance was a big factor in our kitchen turning out so well for us. “We are approaching the 1-year anniversary of the completion of a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel by Castle B&R. I’m still in love! I have a kitchen now that fits 4-5 people working together for our family gatherings. I have a bathroom with double the storage capacity, is handicap modified, and still perfect for growing families.

Before approaching Castle in early 2024, I was already an “experienced designer, remodeler and manager” of two major home remodels. I was tired. I had been following Castle and other local B&R businesses for 15 years, touring many Remodelers Showcase and Parade of Homes projects. My husband and I sat with Loren for the initial quotes. Then we invested in the initial mockup designs with Ashley. My tired idea of adding an island to increase function and counter space was immediately replaced by Ashley’s design with a peninsula and beverage bar. The bathroom design went from refacing to beautiful and improved!

The initial contact was in Feb ‘24. The design stage ran from June-Sept ‘24. The contract was signed in Sept ‘24. The remodel ran from Jan-May ‘25.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. The quality and craftsmanship - from their employees to the subcontractors they work with - are amazing! They work as a team. Problems don’t turn into shouting matches. Criticism is handled professionally. They take pride in their work. They immediately addressed my issues when I brought them up. I’m kinda picky, but also mindful of when a compromise was needed on my part. With major remodels, always factor in an extra 10% above initial costs. Stuff happens when walls are opened up. Plus, I missed a few details during the design approval process. Bathrooms and kitchens are two of the most expensive parts of a house to remodel. Given the amount of time I spend in these places during waking hours, that was a big consideration for doing this remodel.

Part of our project also included replacing both exterior doors (incl storms) and finishing the trim and painting in the stairwell. That enabled me to bring in Twin Cities Closet Company. Mary at TCCC created a drop zone for coats, shoes, etc., at the front entrance. TCCC also added a storage cabinet above the toilet in the new bathroom. Castle has TCCC listed as a trade partner on their website.

Project costs: $160,000 including TCCC
