Ophthalmology Associates & LASIK Center of Mankato

Last year I had an eye exam here as I had had for about 5 years. Got a new doctor. I think her name is Sema. I think she might be only doctor? Doing eye exams. Last year she spent about 4 mins with me, not examining my eyes only briefly reviewing what technicians had done. Told me I needed cataract sugery. Found out later it wasn’t medically necessary. This year I told her about last year. She apologized and reviewed some of tests and actually looked into my eyes. Her customer approach is still a bit rough for me. Give her a couple of years and make sure if she suggests surgery to ask if medically necessary.

Dr. Slama is fantastic and helped answer questions/concerns I have had for years. She was very thorough, explained everything to me in a way that made it easy to understand, and got me started on a treatment plan for my eyes right away. Everyone here was super prompt and friendly!

Honestly the initial visit was great. Helped my 2 year old out in a last minute/urgent situation but when we can back for a scheduled recheck my husband waited an entire hour and the receptionist said that there was still a long wait ahead of them so they ended up leaving without being seen by the provider. We still got charged for seeing the eye tech. Come to find out they aren’t allowed to turn patients away so if you have a scheduled appointment, you could wait hours to still be seen because of same-day appointments.
