2263 McKnight Rd N, North St Paul“Most training feels like a chore, but Corey facilitates a seamless transition from theory to tactical reality. The hands-on drills strip away the clumsy amateurism of a beginner, replacing it with the poise of a professional, if you continue to practice with the drills he provides. He teaches you how to think, handle, and utilize a weapon during your class and reminds you of the steps to be safe in a given situation. There always important, so you can remain F.I.N.E.
He truly was wonderful to work with and I highly recommend him for firearm training.“

2015 Ford Pkwy, St Paul“I dropped into an open mat at Grapplers Station on 2/15/26 and had a wonderful experience. The mat was large, clean and plenty of space to do take downs. Lots of places to change and put your bags and shoes etc. Upon walking in I was greeted by a familiar face and asked to fill out the standard waiver. Quick and easy. I met some of the regulars who were very welcoming and met some new people to roll with. I highly recommend Grapplers Station if you’re looking for a place with a chill vibe, and you’re looking to get a lot of rolls in with people of all different skill levels. Super fun place.“

2054 Marshall Ave, St Paul“Soul, music, community, family, laughter, artistry in motion, and martial arts then some. This is the foundation of Capoeira Minnesota. My son and I myself have been close to Guerreiro since the pre ception and he always shows selflessness, passion, and determination for making capoeira a place to live in his life. It comes naturally for him and everyone there pours into making it the esprit de corps it is. You see the embodiment of the art in everyone who teaches and goes there. From child to adult to family, there’s a place for everyone there.“

1890 Wooddale Dr, Woodbury“Phenomenal gym in every way! The instructors are kind and welcoming, and are very interested and invested in your progress. I've been rolling at this gym for about a month, and I can say that the vibe is great and overall it's an awesome training atmosphere. It can be very nerve-wracking stepping into the gym for the first time, but for anyone who's considering starting BJJ this is the place you want to be.EDIT: Still here two years later, rolling three times per week. Nothing has changed. Instructors still care greatly about your progress, and I've made close friends with many of my training partners. The best BJJ in the east metro, hands down.“

1067 Hwy 96 W, Shoreview“Having been a student at Lee's Champion Taekwondo Academy for three years now, I can confidently say it is the premier place for training in the area. The school maintains a professional and disciplined environment that pushes you to your limits while remaining welcoming to all skill levels. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how the instructors balance rigorous physical training with essential life lessons like perseverance and respect.
One of the standout features that has really helped my progression is the availability of private classes. These sessions allow for a level of technical refinement that you just can't get in a group setting. It’s also a unique privilege to occasionally train with Master Brandon H. Lee. Even with his success as a martial arts star and actor, his sessions are incredibly grounded and focused on high-level precision, which has been a major highlight of my time here.
I will be honest: this academy is quite expensive. Between the standard tuition, testing fees, and the added cost of private lessons, it is a significant financial commitment compared to other schools. However, after three years, I firmly believe you get what you pay for. The quality of the facilities, the low student-to-teacher ratio, and the chance to learn from world-class talent justify the premium price.
Ultimately, the growth I've experienced in both my physical skills and my personal confidence makes every cent worth it. If you are serious about martial arts and want the absolute best instruction available, this is the place to be. It is an investment in yourself that pays off every time you step onto the mat.“

1630 101st Ave NE #110, Blaine“Master Kim is the best TKD master!! I've been a student of Master Kim for about 15 years and have truly learned various TKD skills as well as valuable life skills.
Master Kim also actively seeks out new techniques and pushes his students to excel, both as athletes and individuals. I've definitely become a stronger and smarter athlete under Master Kim. Thanks to Master Kim's commitment and excellent coaching, our demo team also was one of the best in the state, even placing at nationals.
And I can't miss the fact that Master Kim treats everyone like family!! TKD with Master Kim has been a core part of my life, and I'm so grateful for the supportive community I grew up in ?
If you want to learn TKD from the best, learn from Master Kim at KTA!!“

1850 Weir Dr Suite 4, Woodbury“Mr Kahn is a really nice guy and great with kids. My son is enrolled in a different school south of the cities but we drive 45 mins every 2 weeks just to take private lessons with him. If your not into Martial arts you may not know Mr Kahn wins weapons Grand Champion in almost every tournament he enters. I know many students that drive quite a ways just to train with him. We love our home school, but after training with Mr Kahn my son went from coming in 2nd or 3rd in his division to just last season taking First Place at a National Tournament. I can't recommend this place enough if your looking for a great teacher.“

225 Roselawn Ave E #3, St Paul“My two daughters and I have been training at The Art for over 10 years. We enjoy all of the classes we have taken but most of all we appreciate the community that Master Jake and Ms. Natalia have fostered. Although it may be intimidating to new comers, all of the staff, assistants and students at The Art do what they can to make anyone feel welcome.
Even if you are just looking for another way to move your body and learn some new skills while you are doing it, The Art is a fantastic place to check out. The atmosphere is low pressure and you will get out of it what you put into it but you can always be assured that you are welcome.
Even if you are just looking or a new and fun birthday party idea for children or adults, check them out. It is a fun, easy and low risk opportunity to see what The Art is all about!“
“I came to Twin Cities T’ai Chi seeking a practice that would help me with emotional and physical processing of a year filled with challenging life events. I got that and so much more. The instructors are knowledgeable and the studio members are warm and inviting. The studio itself is spacious and clean. There are folks with all sorts of different backgrounds, ages, and stories with what lead them to TCTC. I wasn’t expecting this but I ended up gaining a whole new community with fellow studio members and instructors that I love to see each week.If you’re seeking to bring a new practice and community into your life, Twin Cities T’ai Chi might be the perfect fit, as I discovered it was for me.Pro tips:1. Don’t be afraid when entering the building for the first time. The studio is a few floors up in an artists loft building with the doors to the street locked to the public. Arrive a little early to the class and there will be a friendly instructor to open the door and greet you when you arrive.2. Dress in layers and feel free to bring a small backpack. The space is toasty in the winter!3. You will get to work with different instructors each class. The variety is lovely and it creates a well rounded experience!“

The class is well organized and always interesting. I have learned real world basic and intermediate self defense techniques. There is also a lot of stick and some knife work. One night per week is sparring with padded sticks.“

“I’ve been training martial arts around 15 years and have trained at a lot of different gyms. This gym is my favorite and the only one I’ve stuck with long term. They just teach such solid bjj and striking. Plus Great people and instructors. Like that Bodie guy. One thing I noticed after stepping away from martial arts for a couple years and then returning, Was I basically forgot all the sporty stuff that I learned from the other gyms. But what I learned from the warriors cove stuck with me.“
