The Academy Eden Prairie is a certified affiliate martial arts academy of The Academy MN, founded in 1992. They offer classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) for people of all ages and skill levels. This is a high level jiu jitsu academy with an amazing facility that is super clean and nice. The professor is a GREAT, very accomplished athlete and great coach. The academy is known for its knowledgeable and respectful coaches who create a supportive atmosphere with amazing camaraderie. Beginners and experienced students alike praise the gym's excellent facilities, high-quality training, and opportunities for skill development. Everyone is super cool and nice, making it a great choice for anyone interested in improving their martial arts abilities.
Visiting the St Paul area recently, a black belt Bjj friend recommended this gym. So glad she did. Great atmosphere, very clean (Japanese shoe rule and immaculate locker room restroom, nice!), new mats with the non-textured surface, lots and lots of high level practitioners and serious competitors. I visited on a day when the end of the adult workout shared mat space with a small kids class and there was plenty of space. I love this place and want to come back!

The Academy is such an amazing place to be. My boy started there on just a whim and has now been there for almost 2 years. He’s 7. It isn’t easy teaching young kids whose attention gets distracted easily. But the instructors at the academy are patient and understanding. While also teaching the skills and discipline they need to be a good fighters. Good Job coaches!!!
