DS Driving School West provides driver training with classroom learning and behind-the-wheel instruction. Reviews describe the classroom learning as super straightforward and easy to complete. The behind-the-wheel training is noted as very well done, with instructors generally being knowledgeable, friendly, and providing good constructive feedback. They work to prepare students to pass the behind-the-wheel test. The school has two convenient locations and uses an online scheduling system to keep progress on task, though securing an opening can be difficult and requires prompt booking. Most experiences are positive, with many families highly recommending the school. Specific instructors are frequently praised for going above and beyond, building student confidence, and ensuring scheduling needs are met. A minority of reviews mention inconsistencies between instructors or a desire for more comprehensive instruction on certain test maneuvers. Overall, it is reported as a good experience where the staff takes care of their students.
Our second child to learn to drive with DS West. We love the options (online classes were great for her schedule) and they went out of their way to work with us so she could fit in all of her behind the wheel sessions. Some of our friends had issues getting a response from another driver's ed company in town, but DS West responded promptly to all of our (many) questions.
Excellent experience and have used them for two kids, one in 2024 and the other in 2026. Both kids did the online classes.
If you are having issues getting behind the wheel sessions scheduled i.e. there are no time slots available on their scheduling calendar - they will work with you to get in the behind the wheels done to ensure your kid's sessions are done before their rest.
Owner and staff were very responsive and helfpuful. Highly reccomend.
We used DS Driving School West for all 3 of our kids. It was a great experience all the way around for us. They used helpful tips and memory devices, along with practical driving skills and advice, to position our kids for success during the test and in real life driving. Great value. Excellent driving practice and advice. A patient teacher and helpful online classes. Highly recommend.
