About Prairie School of Dance
Prairie School of Dance is a well-established dance institution that has been providing quality dance instruction to the Southwest Metro community for 27 years. Offering a range of classes for ages 18 months through adult, including creative dance, ballet, jazz, tap, pop hop, pointe, and sacred modern dance, the studio caters to both recreational and performing arts-focused dancers. Known for its wholesome, faith-based environment, Prairie School of Dance has earned a reputation for being a welcoming and supportive community for families. In addition to their dance classes, the studio also hosts birthday parties, with the staff coordinating fun, themed events that rival any kid activity place. With a new studio location on the border of Eden Prairie and Chanhassen, Prairie School of Dance continues to be a popular choice for dancers seeking a joyful and enriching dance experience.
PSOD is a great dance school! Our daughter just completed her 3rd year, and we are more impressed with each passing year. This year, circumstances brought on virtual dance classes (done with the same professionalism as in the studio) and an uncertain recital. I watched as friends posted recital cancellations for their kids well before PSOD was ready to cancel theirs (knowing how important the final performance is to the dancers). Then when that happened, they made so many efforts to make the last dance class as recitalish as they could over Zoom. We hope to have a recital in August but are still very satisfied with the class if that doesn’t happen. Each class ends with a prayer where the kids thank God for dancing, teachers and family. Then end with “thank you God for beautiful me” so important when teaching young children, especially girls (yes they have boy classes too). Thanks PSOD for wonderful instruction both in dance and in valuing what is important - God, self, and others.
