This place has been here for years as far as I know, but we just recently needed to use him. The owner does really good work and is quite the character. The place is older and looks it, but don't let that detract you from the quality of work done. Fair warning it is cash only.
This place has been here forever, has to be good right? Well....might be good as the repair is a day old, however....he started tearing the boot soul apart before we agreed on what we wanted done...IF we wanted it done. And talking OVER me when I'd ask questions. Might be his culture but dude, I'm paying you. So ok..how much to do the repair. $400. WHAT? Well this includes polishing. How much for repair MINUS polishing. $280 (still WHAT but he already ripped the soul off...) Fine. Be back in an hour and i'll be done. We went for lunch, did errands, went back 3.5 hours later. Oh but it took me 3 hours. It did not, you told us to come back in 1 hour so why now did it take you 2 extra hours? Ok...$350. Nope...$280. $300,. nope...$280. I'm in sales for 33 years, I do NOT back down. He finally sighhhhhed and said fine. Will we go back? Oh H3LL no. There's a shoe repair shop at the corner of Farmington and Grand River that will get our business if need be.

Had heel taps replaced because the original cracked and broke( never even walked on the peg once it broke because I noticed the break.) He cracked the actual heel of the boot! A fracture of about an inch on both sides of one heel and one side of the other. The taps were filed to more of a point, not like the original ( one boot had the tap in place, so the size and shape was there for reference)., therefore the balance is thrown off on them now.I did not know he only took cash, but that worked out in my favor in this situation, as he told me to take the boots and to just make...read full review
