Health Serenity Spa is not a fancy day spa, but it is a reasonably priced neighborhood spa to get a good Asian massage, meaning medium to firm acupressure and kneading that will loosen and relieve tight muscles. In addition to massage, cupping is also offered here. Although I love being pampered at fancy spas, I prefer Asian massage therapy where the masseuse isn't afraid to apply more pressure to a deep tissue massage. I don't find massage to be effective unless it leaves me sore for a day! I enjoyed the head massage and the pressure she applied to my head, neck, and shoulders. Overall, it was a good massage and I thought the workers were friendly and accommodating. English is their second language, so please be patient and clear in communicating with them. My masseuse was very nice and asked me several times if I was okay and whether I wanted oil applied, what articles of clothing I wanted to keep on, etc. I recommend this spa to anyone looking for a massage in the area. It is located directly across from Tech Plaza (Walmart, Five Below, Weight Watchers, and Planet Fitness) off of 12 Mile and Van Dyke. There is plenty of free parking located by the back entrance.
