About JCPenney Portraits
JCPenney Portraits offers a mixed experience for customers. Some have had wonderful sessions, particularly highlighting the patience and creativity of certain photographers like Zoe, especially for newborn shoots. However, other reviews mention feeling rushed and dissatisfied with the overall service, including a lack of creativity in family photos and issues with background choices. While some customers appreciate the value for money, others feel the experience did not meet their expectations. Despite the inconsistencies, many continue to return for their family portraits, hoping for improved experiences in the future. This location was clean and tidy. The photographer, Zoe, was kind and managed to capture amazing photos even with a cranky baby. Customers have mentioned that they will be back. The photos came out great, and the staff were nice. However, some customers had to wait over an hour for their appointment, even though they had made a set appointment. The photos also took longer than the estimated delivery time. Despite these issues, some customers have been returning for their third year, finding the process easy and the photographer, Nasir, friendly and good with their child.
We did awkward family photos. They turned out AMAZING! The photographer was amazing, making everything smooth and helped plan around life’s problems! She did incredible. Would book again immediately
ARIE IS AMAZING! she seems very chill but is actually very skilled, direct, and helpful. I had a negative experience in the Ann Arbor JCPenney portrait center with someone not knowing what they are doing with pricing or photographing. When I got to the Troy location to do a family sibling shoot, Arie was ready to give inspo but also would hang back and allow us to look up poses. She did not want one flyaway hair, one blink, or any sideways foot ruin a picture! She also did a great job adding props, positioning us, and cropping the photos afterwards! Very satisfied with this photoshoot!
Ok bear with me.. went to this location and there must of been at least 6 employees working and no one seemed to know how to run this studio. Employees hustling wandering everywhere trying to figure out who’s doing what. Being a former employee/ supervisor myself of a JCPenney studio I found it very unprofessional. Second I came in with my son who is 1 for holiday photos and we waited well over an hour past our time by then he was sleepy and want having it. Our photographer arie was phenomenal and would only come back to have her photograph my child again.
