One member has been going to this club for about a year and describes the pool area as awesome, claiming it is the best pool area, hands down. However, there are concerns regarding the club's management, with some members noting that LA Fitness management has closed two nearby clubs and expressing disappointment in the current management's performance. While this location has a large lot and various amenities like a basketball court, exercise classes, and racquetball courts, some feel that the gym could use a refresh. The staff works hard, but there are times when they seem to be stretched thin, especially when they lack sufficient support in certain areas. While wipes for cleaning machines are provided, occasionally they are left forgotten on the floor. Unfortunately, it appears LA fitness management is not doing a good job at all … as this is the second club off of Telegraph Rd that’s been closed.
LA fitness management closed the club off of Telegraph, just north of 18-mile road a couple years ago. Now this club in Southfield. What’s going on??!! Seriously!?
I sent the above response saying the LA Fitness management is doing a very poor job as they have closed two clubs in my area … to receive the response “we hope to be exceeding your expectations “.

I just heard sad news about the Southfield location shutting down permanently. It was where i signed-up 14 years ago, and over the years I would come workout when visiting. It was always one of the top clubs in the country, IMO. This is why it’s surprising about the closure.
Just recently returned to this telegraph@12 #lafitness. Large lot at this busy LA Fitness. There's a basketball court,pool,sauna,exercise and spinning classes and racquetball courts.
Many newer machines recently though some were previously used from a premium LA Fitness I believe. This site has been open a long time and is clean though a refresh is probably overdue if I'm being picky.
The staff is good though it seems at times they do double duty like when they don't have a female locker room staff. Then it's not as easy to keep all areas maintained .
They do provide wipes for cleaning machines but at times you do see them forgotten on the floor.
