Took my horseback riding boots there to extend the calf measurements so I could use them again. The shop owner did an amazing job with making the added leather blend seamlessly. amazing work
This is more of a shout out to the Greenfield Shoe Repair. Well done Amigo. I took my Red Wing Iron Rangers in for the third resole. The first two resoles were complete train wrecks from different shops that claimed to have top notch cobblers. I was a little bit leary to put out the money for another failed attempt to resole these boots. Seeing how I dabble in the leather world myself. I have an expectation of quality and craftsmanship that I want met when I am shelling out the money. Many will say, well Chris the cost of having those boots resoled three time could have gotten you a brand new pair and my answer would be yes your 100% correct, but that would not get me any closer in finding a cobbler that can resole my boots to the standards I except. I digress. The first picture is the standard sole of a stock iron ranger boot. Which is a good sole, but my problem is I wear the left rear corner of the heal block off causing a very uncomfortable situation when wearing them. This as plagued me through my whole working career. Two years ago I bought a pair of wedge sole Thorogoods. I found them to wear a lot more even across the whole sole. So much so I have wore through the wear layer and now are in the shop being resoled. In picture #2 are the iron rangers that I just got out of the shop Friday. I told the gentleman I wanted the complete bottoms taken off, a new 270 degree welt sewn in with a black vibram wedge sole put on. Well the results were a smile on my face. I finally found a craftsman that knows his trade. Well done Sir. I wish I could have loaded the pictures
Baldo does excellent work on everything I’ve brought to him over the past few years—shoe repairs, (whether new heels or fixing problems); and bought a beautiful leather handmade belt; most recently he sewed and fixed a huge leather couch cushion and it looks brand new. Baldo is also very pleasant and helpful and willing to try to fix anything.
