About Lakewood Shores Resort

Lakewood Shores Resort is a golf resort that provides excellent value for its price. The resort features three golf courses that are well-maintained, with fast and true greens. The Gailes course offers a fun and challenging experience, resembling a Scottish course, while the Serradella course is also enjoyed by visitors. Although the courses are nice layouts, some greens on the Serradella need work. The lodging at the resort is average and in need of updates, including the carts, clubhouse, and range. The rooms at the resort are old and dated but clean, equipped with basic amenities such as a refrigerator and coffee maker. Some rooms have small refrigerators, and there is no ice maker or microwave available. The mattresses in the rooms are uncomfortable, which has caused discomfort for some visitors. However, the rooms are satisfactory for the price, even if they are not high-end. The resort's staff is friendly and attentive. The on-site buffet provides a good breakfast option, and despite some minor issues with tee times, the staff is helpful and accommodating. The location of the resort is great, with abundant golfing and lake access. There is a need for better bug control and updates to the bathrooms and refrigerators, as well as the addition of a microwave and a larger refrigerator in shared living areas. Ice accessibility for guests would also be beneficial. Overall, the resort offers a pleasant experience and is a great choice for golfers looking for a fun weekend with reasonable prices. With some TLC, it has the potential to return to its glory days.

Great value with Group Golfer vouchers for a weekend getaway playing some not so serious golf. We played Gailes and Serradella. Neither were in pristine or awful condition. We were a bit disappointed to find several fairways with aeration plugs still on them when we played Serradella, but we were there on the last weekend they were open for the season, so it didn’t ruin it for us. I enjoyed the layouts of both courses. The Gailes was quite a challenge as I had to forgo the driver off the tee on several holes due to natural areas and fairway bunkers. Serradella was an easier layout, but puts more of a premium on distance. The accommodations were similar to the courses, not high end but not a dump. We did not experience the musty/moldy smell that others have mentioned. I would give our trip 4 stars based on a 5 star value and a 3 star experience.

Lakewood Shores is a great spot for certain crowds. We went on a. Guys golf trip for four, had a suite, rooms 66 and 67. Dates but who cares! Clean and great set up. Only issue with the whole place is no wifi. We had the buffet for breakfast which was good but it was a little over priced. Go into town to Mama’s Kitchen for breakfast and Edelweiss for burgers or the Hilltop tavern which had crazy good food! Courses were good. Gailes is a tough track, bring pots of balls and some tick spray. Blackshire was okay but Serradella was by far the most fun. It was fair and you can score as a mid capper. For the price, it was worth it!

The place is showing it’s age. Rooms were not in good shape or well stocked and fairly buggy from spiders to ticks to moths and flies/mosquitoes. Also the course had a lot of places flagged off and a lot of cart path issues with large bumps and puddles
