Our old clay chimney caps were cracked and our chimney/pipes were very dirty. Every time it rained our house would smell like creosol (very strong). We also had some birds living in there. Brown chimney did an EXCELLENT job both cleaning our chimney and in helping us replace 2 cracked clay caps with a modern double-cap that looks and functions great. Brown Chimney's staff is reliable and a pleasure to work with. Ben stayed on top of scheduling and ordering - even answering our questions outside of business hours by email and text. I'm generally a DIY type of person but we moved into a new-to-us house with a wood stove in the 2-story garage. I didn't want to take my chances so I wanted to call in some pros to have a look and do a sweep if needed. Turns out the creosote was out of control which I saw first hand with the technician. The liner pipe was also old and falling apart. It was a fire hazard.I worked with Brown Chimney on our options and we chose to get a new liner and cap at the top of our chimney. This took a couple visits and my chimney was not quite typical but my quote never went up. Ay Grynhaus was our technician and he was very good and showing me the process and explaining everything....read full review
AY did a great, professional job on our chimney. He explained everything and showed pictures of all work that was to be performed, before and after. We spent more than we were expecting, but the chimney was in bad shape. AY replaced a cracked clay flue peice, rebuilt the crown, repaired the flashing, and replaced brick grout in many places.
