Posting for one of Gary's clients: I recently did a shut down & update procedure on my laptop. The next time I went to open it, I had an error message that wouldn't allow me to open it. It gave me several options, none of which worked. My daughter in law helped me troubleshoot and also ran into all the same deadends. So I asked her who she recommended for repair service. She gave me the number for Mt Pleasant Computer Repair. I called the number and left a message for Gary Lane. When he called me back the next day, my first question for him was why didn't his website give a physical address. He said that he had no "storefront" because he has a fulltime job and does computer repair on the side from his home. He's located on campus and customers can drop off and pick up their computers at times that accomodate his work hours. My daughter in law was pretty sure he was the same guy who had worked on her daughter's computer a few years back and that they were very satisfied with his work and pricing. I dropped off my computer with him on a Thursday and got it back the following Monday after he'd replaced my hard drive. He'd also upgraded me to Windows 11 and saved all my files with the exception of one picture folder that I can retrieve from elsewhere and one document file, the loss of which was not a problem. His charge was completely reasonable. He is polite and easy to work with. I highly recommend Gary if you need computer repair work.

Excellent response time to our inquiry (on a Saturday!). Was extremely kind, explained what happened so well, was so patient, and expertly fixed our Mac - thank you SO much!
