Friday (Easter weekend with family up) . . . we smell an odor in the bathroom downstairs and can't hear the sump pump working. I call Mr. Rooter but they can't come out--they suggest the septic might be full. So I call Williams & Bay Pumping, that we have worked with before. Within an hour, Shaun, an ace technician, comes out. He investigates the pump and the float and decides they work fine. The problem may have been with a roof vent from the extreme wind we've had. We're due for our septic tank to be emptied, and Shaun does this expertly. I'm impressed that he was able to come out and do the job before 11:00 AM. I know now that Williams & Bay Pumping does more than empty septic tanks. I will contact them first when I have a problem again.
My mother just posted this on Facebook, and I wanted to share! We had a plugged floor drain next to the furnace that was causing some not TERRIBLY serious flooding in the HVAC room, but serious enough that we had to move a bunch of stuff stored in there to “dry land”. Thank the Lord two strong wonderful son-in laws were visiting who did that for us. (Isn’t it ALWAYS a holiday or special event when these things happen?!) The issue was causing toilet issues too. When Aaron from Williams and Bay pumping arrived, he diagnosed the problem within 2 minutes (a stuck float)and set to work. He pulled two small toys out of the pump basin (The former owner had 3 year old twins), and made sure nothing was blocking movement of the float. Had me run the tub for a bit and flush some toilets to test the system. Pump and float were working fine. Finished up, screwed the lid back on, and he was gone. Thank you Lord. I’d had visions of having to run a camera in some pipes, maybe having to dig up cement, and worse. I had asked if maybe since he was already here, maybe he should put a new pump in.He said he had one on the truck, ($900), but all was working well, so recommended we just keep this one for now, said it should give us several more years. Many service people don’t have that kind of integrity.I was grateful not to be taken advantage of. (How terrible to end that sentence with a preposition.) Anyhow, three cheers for Williams and Bay!!! You have a wonderful employee there.
