We had an old, wooden retaining wall collapse by the house. Jeff very graciously came out to us to look it over.

We knew we wanted natural stone if it was possible, and we were thrilled that despite the challenges of the terrain around the house, he and his team could make that dream a reality. They also incorporated the multiple levels that I was hoping to have. Our son isn't old enough to walk yet, but I had visions of him getting into mischief in whatever we put there and this will be so much safer than what we had before.

I step back and think about how hard this job must have been: we got that spike in heat and humidity as they dug into the work the week before Labor Day, it's up a steep uphill dirt road either way to get to our house, it's a tricky spot to work on once you're there... but the Johnston team are absolute rock stars. It's amazing watching them work!

Jeff came by when the work was finished to do a walkthrough with us on the Friday before the holiday weekend. He and my husband had discussed a few wooden beams on the other side of the porch and we went ahead with a replacement of those as well, adding onto what was originally in scope. His team was able to come later -the same day- and in almost no time at all, we had the other side taken care of! I can still hardly believe it.

We did some research ahead of time to get an idea of what to expect and paid right where it seemed like the estimated price would be for something like this. Given the challenges I mentioned, that is excellent value for an end result we love!
