About Thrive Hot Yoga
Thrive Hot Yoga is a popular studio with locations in Troy and Farmington Hills, offering a variety of class types and times to fit any schedule. The studios are welcoming and friendly, with instructors who respect students' limitations and offer alternatives for challenging poses. Hot yoga can be intense, especially for beginners, so it's essential to go at your own pace, take breaks if needed, and bring plenty of water. Both locations have showers and offer amenities such as mat and towel rentals. The studios are well-maintained, with clean and spacious bathrooms and cubbies for storing personal items. While not the cheapest option, Thrive offers competitive pricing with various packages and discounts available, including new student deals and monthly memberships. With experienced instructors leading classes, students can expect a great workout and a supportive environment. As one reviewer noted, "Krysia's classes are THE BEST!" with excellent cues, great music, and a fun and engaging atmosphere.
One of my go-to yoga studios! Thrive has locations in both Troy and Farmington Hills and offers tons of times and different class types. Even with a busy schedule, I feel like I can still squeeze in at least one class every week! I've attended classes with a few different instructors and have always found them to be very welcoming and friendly. Weekend classes can tend to be full, but there is typically plenty of space to spread out during the week. I also really appreciate that the instructors are always very respectful of each individuals' limitations and offers alternatives for more challenging poses. The heat and humidity can definitely be overwhelming if this is your first time trying hot yoga. However, this is one of my favorite features of this location and a reason I keep coming back! It's important to go at your own pace, take breaks if necessary, and bring PLENTY of water if you're new to this type of practice! FYI: this location also offers showers!
I've been practicing Yoga with Thrive on and off since 2013. 98% of the time, I'm at their Troy location, since this one's a bit far and out of the way for me. But, I had purchased a 5 pack of classes and the last class expires tomorrow, so I had to use it. The schedule at this location had the class and time that I wanted, so since it's Easter Sunday, I decided to trek out here and get my Yoga on.The studio's in a strip mall just like their Troy location, at the corner of 12 mile and Orchard Lake Road. The lobby area's well taken care of full of product for sale. Yoga mats, towels, and a few sweatshirts are there for purchase. The lobby usually opens 30 minutes prior to class starting so everyone can get checked in and set up in class with their mats.If you don't have a mat, they will rent you one for a few dollars. They also have towels as well, but I think they charge for those too. I've forgotten my mat at home before and had to rent one, just make sure you return it to the counter. The bathrooms here are fabulous, and there's tons of space and cubbies for putting your items away while you're doing yoga. The showers are great just be prepared to dress in front of other people. They also have cubbies up front, which are the ones I use when placing my shoes and keys away before class. Remember kids, no cell phones are allowed in the yoga studio during class. Also, no shoes past the lobby area!As for pricing, they are not cheap but not the most expensive I've seen either. They have a variety of different packages available for purchase. You can purchase classes in a bundle (10 classes, 5 classes, etc.) or you can get a monthly membership. They also usually have new student discounts so check online and with the staff. They also have a drop in fee if you just want to do one class to check it out or get a yoga class in for fun.*most* of the instructors here are good. Over the years I've had a few that were NOT good, unfriendly or just unhelpful. But, most are good at leading class and get to know you by name. Make sure to bring water, a mat, a towel and get ready to do some Yoga!
Krysia’s classes are THE BEST! She’s so good at calling out cues to get your body in the perfect position to get the most out of each workout and targeting all the muscles. The music is also a 10 out of 10 amazing every time!
