Visited this cemetery at the Age of 12, 63 years young now. Interment highs and lows where the property owners completed no routine Maintenance. When monies are embezzled from escrow everyone suffers. Today noticed New Staff onboard…and a few renovations in progress!!! The women’s bathroom , Aretha Franklin and Rosa Parks Beautiful black & White Pictures in the Lobby. Asphalt paving has began on Roads that clearly needed Big Gretchen telling the Cemetery to Fix the Damn Roads. Customer Care exceptional…Rudy Jerry renders heartfelt service. Dave at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit was an extraordinary person that went beyond the call of duty to help find a long lost relative.
He took it upon himself to look up some information in a data bank and clear and clean the gravesite for my uncle. He followed up by sending a picture of the headstone. Great to have worked with him!
Super great guy! This man knows customer service and relation relationship building.

I’m very pleased with Woodlawn in general, but I want to speak directly about Chelle. I had been trying for almost a year to have my grandparents plot cleaned up, it’s a flat one so grass and dirt had grown around it, making it almost invisible. I spoke with Chelle and she told me she would have it cleaned up. She got back with me in the timeframe provided. And when I went out there and looked at it, it looked amazing. So thank you to Chelle and whoever did the job of cleaning it. 💞
(4 stars instead of 5 because the roads in the cemetery aren’t paved)
