We live out of town, and when my mother passed, her wish was to return to Detroit to be buried near her own mother. From the very beginning, the team at West McNichols Chapel, especially Linda Swanson, showed us such warmth and care. Linda guided us through each step with genuine compassion, patience, and professionalism, which meant more than words can express.
She coordinated everything with the funeral home in Georgia and made sure my mother’s remains were transported safely to Detroit. My family has been using Swanson’s for many years. Recently, my aunt passed and she also used Swanson’s. She looked amazing and they did an incredible job in preparing for her service and during the service. However, the church Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion in Detroit had no heat on and the entire funeral was freezing. In addition , the Internment was scheduled for Monday March 30, 2026 at 1pm. This time was mentioned during the service and listed on the obituary. Upon arrival to the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Clinton Township.
