The services provided by this young, talented, beautiful Black American entrepreneur and staff is top notch and definitely an asset to the community. Unfortunately the world we live in can be cold, cruel and downright vindictive. I have personally witnessed harassment and disrespect to this place of business, staff and customers. Painted Nails is located smack dab in the middle of a middle eastern corridor and they want Painted Nails out! I’ve seen the trash left in front of this business, I’ve heard the disrespectful comments. I’ve witnessed the lack of interest by law enforcement and it’s sad because I remember the same scenario towards Black Americans when Orville Hubbard was mayor of Dearborn.
I find it ironic that the successful immigrant and minority business owners of today are where they are because they stand on the shoulders of my ancestors, Black Americans whose blood, sweat and tears built this country and brutality endured to secure civil rights for EVERYONE and this is how a young, gifted and Black entrepreneur is treated. Why, come?“
