Good experience for someone in college trying to advance their career - hard on your back and not worth working for longer than a year. Forklifts will be automated come 2026 anyways.

Overall felt Dayton was a good company to work for. I drove for Fort Wayne terminal for almost 2 years... I got terminated due to refusing a load I felt was unsafe for me as a driver. Everything in the beginning is always great but it got to the point where I didn't feel as I was apart of the team anymore... Wanted a transfer I never received just to get a fresh start somewhere else but that didn't happen... Tried getting my job back but the guy wouldn't reason with me.. Felt like that was a harsh disciplinary action especially for a first time deal... No tickets or accidents clean record. Feel like there getting to a point where management is taking away family atmosphere... They say they need drivers and drivers are important but I didn't feel important as a driver. I went through 2 or 3 terminal managers and other changes through human resources and regional manager. I'm not being bitter I respect Dayton freight for there actions but I felt like my situation could have been dealt in more of a professional manner. To have me terminated and to put that status under my name doesn't sit too well knowing the great job I did servicing their customers.

Dayton did an amazing job! I was not aware I needed to setup a time for a delivery. They contacted me in order to get my time setup. The driver arrived on our narrow country road and was able to maneuver back into our driveway and drop our pool kit right where it needed to go. Driver was spot on the first try. The tracking was great also. KUDOS to Datyon!
