As I transitioned into my menopausal years after 50 years of age, I began experiencing various symptoms that was having a profoundly negatively affect on my life. I was very irritable, anxious and depressed and there was no logical reason why I would be feeling that way. I had hot flashes and night sweats and wasn’t sleeping well at night. I had no sex drive and had very low energy levels. All of these symptoms were tearing me apart and were negatively affected my relationship with my husband and other loved ones. I consulted with my primary care doctor and we had a conversation about how I handle stress, problems, and other priorities in my life. He told me that I have depression and anxiety and prescribed an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication. The medication made me feel worse and didn’t help at all with the symptoms I was having. I tried a few other medications and those also made me feel worse and didn’t help the symptoms. About a year after trying all of the medications that weren’t working, I was explaining all of these symptoms and issues to a friend and she recommended that I see Doctor George at Genemedics Health Institute. He did a thorough evaluation of my health history and symptoms and then we got a comprehensive lab panel to assess my hormones and my health. The bloodwork showed hormone imbalance as well as high cholesterol, pre-diabetes and high inflammation in my body and in my arteries. I’m 5’5 and I went from 150 lbs 130 lbs and I also noticed nice improvements in muscle strength and muscle tone. My health is also better than ever. My blood glucose, cholesterol and inflammation all went from being bad to being excellent. It’s also had great anti-aging benefits such as reduced skin wrinkles, much better looking skin, and my hair reverted back to the thick, lush hair I had in my 20s. I’ve been in the health and fitness industry all of my adult life and have always easily maintained an above average physique. I’m 44 years old and look and feel better than I ever have. I met Dr George about 3 years ago. At that time I was over weight, in pain and always feeling tired.
